STORY TELLING SESSION HELD AT LOTUS VALLEY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL,NOIDA

Date: 01. OCT.2015

“Story is the song line of a person's life. We need to sing it and we need someone to hear the singing. Story told. Story heard. Story read creates a web of life in words."

Storytelling is a powerful medium that works well towards instilling values. It's a personal medium and connects with children and adults alike on an emotional level. Stories can connect, bring people together and can impart education in an indirect manner in the most fun and interactive style.
In an endeavour to encourage students to explore their unique expressiveness and heighten their ability to communicate thoughts and feelings in an articulate, lucid manner, Lotus Valley International School, Noida, held an interesting story telling session for the students of Class V on 1st of October 2015.
The resource person, Ms Jaishree Sethi, story teller and media and communication trainer, held the students captive with her engaging narrative. Her voice modulation, diction, facial expressions and animated gestures transported the children to a wondrous world of imagination. Ms Jaishree threw open her JHOLA of stories and made children listen, think and answer mathematical teasers. The vivifying enactment of the story "Bhishti" tantalized and captivated everyone among the audience. Her astounding expressions and intonations added a flavour of fun and humour to the stories. The enchanting theatrical representation of the story mesmerized the audience. Her accounts were full of jest and funny punch lines that tickled little hearts and filled them with zest and laughter. Children responded enthusiastically to riddles. On one hand the stories sparked quick responses, on the other they captivated them making them sit quietly and listen. Her narrations left the students spellbound. It was a remarkable experience for students and teachers alike.
