Classes I and II Special Assembly on Gandhi Jayanti

Mahatma Gandhi portrays the perfect example of how one person can make a huge difference in society and even the world. 1st October, 2015 saw the Special Assembly on account of Gandhi Jayanti conducted by the students of class II Kamet and McKinley.
Spreading the message of peace, truth and love, the students performed brilliantly and conducted the event confidently against the backdrop of the three doctrines of Mahatma Gandhi- ‘see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil’. A short biography of Gandhiji acquainted the small children with his ideals like adherence to truth and non-violence and displayed the struggle for freedom. The tableau exhibited  the Dandi March,  the Swadeshi Movement, the Non Co-operation Movement flawlessly while the song in the background, ‘Sabarmati ke sant tune kar diya kamal..’summed up Gandhiji’s contribution to our motherland.  A poem on Gandhiji’s doctrines was another highlight which was recited confidently by the students.  A musical tribute too was given to the great visionary as the students sang a beautiful medley of his favourite bhajans.
Mrs. Mona Kalra, In charge- Classes I and II, lauded the efforts of the students and teachers in hosting the assembly and motivated all to follow Gandhiji’s ideals which reinforced India’s national identity and enabled people to regain not only their freedom but also their pride and dignity.
