Classes I and II Special Assembly on Dussehra

Dussehra, also called Vijaydashmi, is the festival that marks the victory of good over evil. The festival, with all its dramatization and gaiety was celebrated in the Special Assembly held in Lotus Valley International School on 15th Oct, 2015. Hosted by the students of class II Elbrus and Kanchanjunga, it transformed the assembly area into a miniature Ramlila ground, wherein the actors depicted the Ramayana beautifully.
The recitation of the couplets was flawless as the children dressed in their colourful costumes performed the dance-drama. The audience was mesmerized by their flawless enactment. The children’s expressions and gestures spoke louder than words and brought the whole story to life. The message of the victory of good over evil was beautifully conveyed. The backdrop of the ten-headed demon king Ravana was beautifully displayed and the props were used effectively. The festivities were further enhanced by the colourful and vibrant ‘Garba’ dance which the students performed with grace as they matched their steps rhythmically to the beat of the traditional music.
Mrs Mona Kalra, Incharge Classes I & II, was eloquent with her praise for the grand show and conveyed her good wishes to all.
