A Session On Meditation

Meditation is like giving a hug to ourselves, getting in touch with that awesome reality in us.
A session on meditation was conducted by Mr. and Mrs. Goel  for the students of class VIII. The facilitator Mr. Goel started off with a session where the students gave their opinion on what they understood by the term meditation. Thereafter he explained to them the meaning of mediation and how to go about it. He gave an introductory warm up session where the students learnt to relax and not think about anything and then  introduced the concept of slow breathing along with the mantra of OM NAMAH SHIVAY. By this they  realized that during the practice of meditation the body goes into deep rest and that deepening reservoir of rest then results in many  benefits i.e.  helps us to stay  focused and concentrate on our goals. He further guided the students to spare two minutes everyday from their schedule and to meditate in that time, the result of which would be visible to them. The session was an enlightening one not only for the students but also the teachers who accompanied them.
The Principal Dr. Ruchi Seth thanked Mr. and Mrs. Goel for sparing their valuable time and guiding the students in the right direction and invited them to hold such sessions in future as well.
