WORKSHOP ON DIFFERENTIATED LEARNING III-V

30.March.2016

By Ms. PARUL PURI & Ms. RACHNA JONEJA

As Maya Angelou said, “In diversity there is beauty and there is strength”. Respecting and learning from others, valuing our differences and discovering new things along the way is what we must do.

Keeping the above thoughts in mind, a workshop was conducted on ‘Differentiated Learning’ by Ms. Parul Puri (In charge III- V) and

Ms. Rachna Joneja for the teachers of Classes III- V.

The workshop began with a discussion on the true essence of differential learning and gave the teachers an insight about Coil’s Horizontal and Vertical differentiation model. The workshop gave the teachers inputs on how to effectively group students and motivate them to give their best. It also detailed the various activities that are best suited for visual learners, kinesthetic learners, technological learners, naturalist learners, and reflexive learners. The most interesting learning gained from the workshop was arranging the activities as per various learning preferences in a TIC- TAC – TOE and allowing the students to pick up activities for any particular topic. The workshop concluded by detailing the various assessment techniques integral to differential learning.

During the workshop, the resource persons urged the teachers to incorporate the newly gained knowledge to maximize the learning outputs of the students. It was a fruitful day, well spent.
