Language Week-Class II

‘Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.’ - Benjamin Franklin

The language week conducted from 11th July 2016 to 15th July 2016 opened new vistas of learning for children of class II. A variety of challenging and exciting activities and competitions were organized to take learning beyond the textbooks and to instill a love for the two languages.

The ‘Name Game’ had the energy levels running high as the students learnt nouns in a sporty manner.  ‘Scrambled Letters’ was a creative way to reinforce spellings and word-building skills. Children were transported to a world of fantasy and adventure through a storytelling session ‘Once Upon a Time, Hey! It’s Story Time’.

The interactive story narration by our parent guest story teller, Mrs. Puneet Auluck had the children spellbound as they listened and participated actively in the role play.

The children put their word-building skills to test in the competition ‘What’s the Good Word’ comprising of two levels, the ‘Word Web’ and the ‘Spellathon’. The energy and enthusiasm they showed in their appetite to weave the maximum number of words from a web of alphabets was invigorating.

To inspire teamwork and to build up creativity, the group activity in Hindi, ‘Rachnatmak Karya’ had the children engrossed and focused .Their creativity and linguistic skills were put to test in ‘Shabd Pratiyogita’, a competition comprising of three levels. The students participated with enthusiasm and concentration, each trying to outdo the other! The ‘Shabd Seedhi’, an entertaining way to sharpen minds and lexical skills, was a stepping stone to the next two levels of the competition.

We are proud of our young learners for participating with great zeal and commitment and thankful to our dear parents for their support and cooperation in making the Language Week a grand success.
