Special Assembly on Diwali - Classes I and II

Special Assembly on Diwali - Classes I and II

Diwali, the ‘festival of lights’, is one of the most awaited, sacred and joyous festivals of India. Our young Lotusians of Classes I and II celebrated this auspicious festival with great pomp and grandeur. Classes I Maple and I Willow brought to life the spirit of Diwali with their power-packed performance in the special assembly conducted on 26th October, 2016.

The crisp autumn morning, the happy chatter, the vibrant costumes- set the stage for the festivities to begin. The children explained the tradition behind celebrating Diwali and its relevance in today’s scenario. Through a meaningful and thought provoking skit, they emphasized the need to celebrate a ‘green’ or eco-friendly Diwali. Practical tips on how to play a safe and environment friendly Diwali were shared with all. With the aim to instil sound moral values among our children, the true meaning of the festival was depicted as ‘sharing is caring’. Children sang a beautiful song aptly chosen for the occasion.

The audience could not resist tapping their feet and swaying to a melodious rendition of the song, ‘Aayi Diwali re’. Last but not the least, the icing on the cake was a rocking dance performance-an apt finale to the revelry. The occasion was graced by In- charge Classes I and II, Mrs. Mona Kalra who enlightened all with her words and urged everyone to celebrate an eco friendly Diwali by saying No to crackers. Children were encouraged to spread love and happiness and celebrate the joy of giving.

No event would be complete without expressing our gratitude to our dear parents for their support and cooperation.
