Celebrating Our National Heroes at the Senior Spec
On August 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2024, our school held special assemblies themed ‘Our National Heroes,’ organized by students from Class IX Nilgiris, X Socrates, and XII Smith. The event was honoured by the presence of our Vice Principal Academics, Ms. Jyoti Vats, and Academic Coordinator, Ms. Sukriti Roy, as well as students from Grades 9, 10, and 12.
The assembly offered a vibrant celebration of India's rich history and the enduring spirit of its freedom struggle. Students of Grade XII captivated the audience with performances that beautifully intertwined the past with the present, dancing to stirring patriotic tunes and singing ‘Teri Mitti Me Mil Jawa,’ which sparked a fervent sense of patriotism among the audience. Class X Socrates highlighted the contributions of unsung heroes such as Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Kasturba Bai, and Bhagat Singh, conveying their discontent with British rule through compelling skits and performances. The assembly for Grade IX was a tapestry of breathtaking musical acts, engaging skits, and vibrant dances, all celebrating the spirit of Indian freedom.
Our beloved Vice Principal, Ms. Jyoti Vats, praised the students for their commendable efforts and dedication. The assembly concluded with an award ceremony, recognizing the outstanding achievements of our talented students. Notable winners included Hriday Antal for Best Delegate in Lok Sabha, Gopika Menon for Best Journalist, Aryan Arora for Best Delegate in AIPPM, and Sanvi Aggarwal and Anugrihaprada Goel for Special Mention and Best Delegate in AISM at the DPS, GBN Youth Parliament. Additionally, Yuvraj Dutta secured First Prize in the Turncoat Debate at GPSC Capax Infinitum, and Avi Vijh received First Prize for Psych’s Canvas at Cambridge, Greater Noida. A group of students comprising Naisha Kaushik, Lavanya Bhatia, Raima Kapoor, Adya Singh Bisht, Reet Chhatwal, Vanshika Verma, Raghav Sharma, Arveen Daryani, and Ayaan Manchanda achieved Second Prize for Nukkad Natak. Furthermore, Arav Bhatia and Shubh Gupta received Certificates of Distinction in CEMC as part of a collaboration between LVISN and the University of Waterloo.
The assembly was not only a tribute to our national heroes but also a testament to the remarkable talents and accomplishments of our students.
