A DYNAMIC ENGAGEMENT WITH PARA ATHLETE AYUSH VERMA

In collaboration with Samarth by Hyundai, in partnership with NDTV, the CLE Department of Lotus Valley International School organised a session ‘Samarth by Hyundai in partnership with NDTV’ for the students of middle school, on Monday, 29 July 2024. Samarth by Hyundai is an initiative that seeks to promote inclusivity, change perceptions and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. During the extremely engaging session, the event coordinator, Ms Sudipta, emphasized the need for inclusion and diversity in our society. Students exhibited great enthusiasm and interacted freely to express their view point and understanding about inclusion and diversity. The guest speaker, para-athlete Ayush Verma (discus throw) in his motivational speech shared his personal journey of sheer grit and determination to overcome all challenges to become a para-athlete. He urged the students to be resilient and never give up, however challenging the road ahead maybe. Students watched motivational videos of para-athletes and shared good luck cards and messages expressing their admiration and appreciation for the para-athletes and also sent their good wishes to the shining stars for the upcoming Paralympics to be held in Paris. This session helped students gain deeper understanding of importance of inclusivity and practical ways to foster a diverse environment. Director-Principal, Dr.Ruchi Seth Ma’am in her insightful address expressed her gratitude for this incredible initiative of Samarth by Hyundai and reiterated the need of inclusivity and diversity to change the perception of the world regarding disability. The event ended with vote of thanks by Middle School In-charge, Ms. Neerja Rishi.
